Midweek Mashup
The Bulletin, voice of the students since 1901

Good morning!
It’s Maddie here with your morning newsletter! Today is Wednesday, Jan. 28. Thanks for tuning in!
This week has been heavy.
I don’t think there are words to adequately reflect just how much the loss of Rebecca Rauber has been felt across the community and our campus. Rebecca was a second-grade teacher at Riverside Elementary who loved her students and loved teaching. She was an Emporia State alumna who remained active on campus and was a mentor teacher for The Teacher’s College. During such an emotional time, it has been heartwarming to learn about Rebecca, her passion for teaching, the way she loved and the “yellow” she radiated. I never got the chance to know her, but there is no denying that she was a deeply special person and will be forever missed.
As a reminder, the Student Wellness Center offers 5 free counseling sessions each semester for students. Appointments can be scheduled online through the Student Wellness Portal or by calling the front desk at (620) 341-5222. If you need to talk to someone, please do. Don’t wait.
As Brandi Taylor said: be more happy and love everyone. For Rebecca, we should try. I know I will.
Here’s to the first newsletter of the spring semester.
