“It put me in a position to free others”: Championing justice while wrongfully convicted
Walter Dunn spent nearly 13 years in Florida state prison, wrongfully convicted of attempted murder among other felonies.
While in prison, Dunn educated himself on Florida law. He became a certified law clerk and began taking a second look at the cases of his fellow inmates as the “jailhouse lawyer.”
Over the course of his time in prison, he freed several men from its confines. Eventually, he also freed himself.
