We are excited to ring in the new semester with our first newsletter of 2025 and look forward to publishing our first print edition on Thursday, Jan. 30. In the mean time, we want to hear from you! Spring 2025 Academic & Financial Aid Deadlines
Jan. 17 5:00 p.m.: Deadline to pay account balance or enroll in a payment plan to avoid a $50 fee on accounts with balances over $100.
Jan. 27: Last day to enroll in classes. Last day to drop full semester and first block classes with no entry on transcripts. Last day to withdraw from ESU for a full refund.
Feb. 2: Deadline to submit most scholarships in the Emporia State scholarship portal, including the general scholarship application.
Feb. 14: Juniors planning to graduate in May 2026 must submit the “Intent to Graduate” form with the Degree Analysis Office.
Feb. 17: Last day to withdraw from first block classes to receive an automatic “W” on transcripts.
Feb. 20: Additional $50 fee added to accounts with balances over $100 that have not enrolled in a payment plan.
Feb. 28: Graduate students planning on graduating in Summer 2025 must submit the“Intent to Graduate” form with Graduate School.
March 10: Enrollment holds placed on accounts with balances of over $500.
March 20: Additional $50 fee added to accounts with balances over $100 that have not enrolled in a payment plan.
March 28: Last day to drop second block classes with no entry on transcripts. Last day to withdraw from full semester classes to receive an automatic “W” on transcripts.
April 18: Last day to withdraw from second block classes to receive an automatic “W” on transcripts.
April 20: Additional $50 fee added to accounts with balances over $100 that have not enrolled in a payment plan.
May 20: Additional $50 fee added to accounts with balances over $100 that have not enrolled in a payment plan.

Campus Student Resources
Wellness Center
Location: Morse Hall
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Wellness Center provides students with a range of medical and mental health services, including:
Medical attention to illnesses and injuries
Management of chronic illnesses
Physical examinations for any work or school requirement
Laboratory testing
Sexual health tests and treatment
Immunizations
Blood pressure checks
Access to trained counselors for talk therapy sessions online or in person (with the initial five sessions free)
Biofeedback
Art therapy
Pro tip: All ESU students are automatically enrolled in a Canvas course called “Counseling Center Resource.” This tile connects to various apps intended to help manage stress, cope in a positive manner, and even connect to different support groups and programs.
Center for Student Involvement (CSI)
Location: Memorial Union main level
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Center for Student Involvement encourages students to become connected to their campus community by hosting:
The Associated Student Government (ASG), where ESU students voice their concerns and vote on legislation that impacts the campus
The Union Activities Council (UAC), where students assist in the planning of various educational and entertaining events on campus
Registered student organizations (RSOs), where students can connect with communities that share their interests
TradPlus and Veteran Student Services to provide resources to veterans and “nontraditional” students - students who may struggle adjusting to their community because they are older students, parents, or in some way differ from the “prototypical” college student

Career Services
Location: Memorial Union in CSI office
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. by appointment
Career Services assists students with nearly every aspect of job searching and professional development, whether searching for a part-time job or a career. Career Services offers:
Assistance with resumes and cover letters
Practice interviews and advice on interviewing skills
Aid in the search for jobs, internships, and graduate schools
Intercultural Center
Location: Memorial Union main level
The Intercultural Center is an inclusive space for students to discuss, learn about and critically reflect on diverse experiences. The Center features:
The Interfaith Chapel for people of all faiths to safely practice their religious beliefs
Spaces for identity-based student organizations
Lounges set up for free-flowing exchanges of ideas between cultures
Various cultural celebrations
Corky’s Cupboard
Location: Memorial Union room 007 (basement level)
Hours: Monday & Thursday 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Corky’s Cupboard makes supplies to fulfill basic needs available to students who may face food insecurity. Once per week, any student with a Hornet ID can benefit from:
Non-perishable foods, fresh produce, frozen items
Hygiene products and toiletries
Resources on healthy eating and food budgeting
Student Advising Center
Location: Plumb Hall 106
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Student Advising Center hosts undergraduate advisors dedicated to assisting students in succeeding academically. Schedule a meeting with your advisor to:
Enroll for next semester
Add or drop a class
Make adjustments to a major or minor
Discuss academic interests and their application to career goals
Academic Center for Excellence and Success (ACES)
Location: Second floor of William Allen White Library
Hours: By appointment, designated walk-in hours for certain subjects
ACES provides free academic and learning resources to students, including:
Appointments with certified tutors in various fields of study
Workshops for academic and personal development
Individualized coaching sessions for students seeking to enhance their academic success

Emporia State Men’s Basketball will play at Central Missouri on Jan. 18. at 3:00 p.m. They will go on to play against Northeastern State at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 23 in White Auditorium. ESU is currently 4-11 on the season and 1-5 in the MIAA conference.
Lady Hornets Basketball travel to take on the Jennies on Jan. 18. at 1:00 p.m. in Warrensburg, Mo. They will also play against NSU at White Auditorium on Jan. 23. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. The Lady Hornets have a record of 2-4 in conference play and 7-8 overall this season.
ESU Track and Field are set to compete at the Washburn Rush Buster in Topeka, Kan. on Jan. 17. On Jan. 24, they will go on to compete again in Pittsburg, Kan. at the Rumble in the Jungle.
