The Bulletin Newsletter
Voice of the students since 1901

Good afternoon!
It’s Maddie here with your afternoon newsletter! Today is Thursday, Nov. 20. Thanks for tuning in!
First and foremost, I owe our readers an apology. This week should have been a print edition—not a newsletter. I regret that my scheduling for print issues did not take into account last week’s Veteran’s Day holiday, which would have set up coverage for this week’s print issue.
Due to the university holiday, we did not have a sufficient amount of timely coverage to include in a print issue for this week. I sincerely apologize.
Additionally, due to circumstances outside of our control, we will have to make changes to our print schedule moving forward. We will conclude this semester with a print edition on Dec. 2, but it will be The Bulletin’s last regular print issue until further notice.
On Nov. 11, we were notified that the printing company that produces our print issue will be placing a 6 percent surcharge on all commercial printing. Increased production costs caused by international tariff prices are behind this decision, we were told.
This surcharge will increase the cost of production for our print issues to $401.26 per issue from $378.55. Unfortunately, it is not financially feasible for The Bulletin to continue producing bi-monthly print issues on top of other operational costs. So, we have made the decision to cut regular print production until further notice.
While this decision is not one we ever wanted to make, it is one that will ensure the viability of our publication. We will continue to provide you with news coverage that informs, entertains and holds power to account in hopes that one day we can reincorporate regular print issues into our operations. We hope to incorporate two special print editions into the upcoming spring semester as long as our budget allows.
Until then, we will pour more time and energy into enhancing our newsletter, growing our website and building our social media presence with the campus community. We will continue to be the voice of the students, to be news you can count on.
If you would like to support The Bulletin and student journalism, please consider donating through our website. Your contribution will allow us to purchase equipment, keep up with our website hosting costs and most of all, continue serving you.
